Happy Canada Day

Why it is cool to be a Canadian. (and for those who are confused, no Canada does not celebrate July 4, pull your head out of the dirt)

1. We have Nanimo Bars. Recipie here: http://www.nanaimo.ca/EN/main/visitors/NanaimoBars.html

2. The metric system. When I was in Bio 100 at BYU-Idaho the first few lessons were on conversion within the metric system. We were taught this in grade 4.

3. Our money is pretty, and currently at par with the American dollar.

4. Poutine. Who knew cheese curds, fries and gravy could be so good.

5. We have commercials like this.

6.  The Calgary Stampede. We collect the poster every year and I love free pancake breakfasts.

7. Mounties. Oh ya, and Justin Bieber.

8. When we have family get togethers, we go curling.

9. The Calgary Flames in the Saddle dome with a malt.

10.  Smarties, Coffe Crisps, Areos, Kinder Surprise, Eatmore Rolls, Crunchies and Dill Pickle Chips, Excel Polar Ice Gum can all be found at every convenience store.

11. Five Pin Bowling.

  3. Ok, lets get this straight... Canada is amazing... Curling, the stampede, yada yada yada... but 5 pin bowling???? Come on Rosalyn, that is the epitome of anti-climatic... What's more amazing? 5 dinky pins getting dangled around on a gallows? or 10 ginormous behemoths getting pummeled by a 15pound...(6.8Kg)bowling ball? yeah, no nanaimo bar can stick up to that one.
